OUR JOURNEY

OUR JOURNEY BEGAN IN 2012 WHEN WE DECIDED TO PUT EXCESS APPLES FROM THE FAMILY ORCHARD TO GOOD USE.  ASSUMING OUR EUROPEAN HERITAGE AND EXPOSURE TO CRAFTING HOMEMADE PRODUCE, WE ASSUMED THIS QUALIFIED US AS BREWERS, SO WE DECIDED TO GIVE BREWING A CRACK AND SET ABOUT MAKING OUR FIRST BREW. ​

But it wasn’t quite the brew we imagined...more of a crushing (pardon the pun) failure. But we persevered.

Learning very quickly that there is more to the art of cider making than what we initially thought, we decided to collaborate with a renowned winemaker as we continued to develop a number of different brews. As a team, we experimented with a variety of apples from different seasons and trialled different variables along the way, we scaled up batch sizes and tested shelf life. With plenty sampling and tasting along the way, we refined and tasted A LOT more until…finally we perfected our brew. ​ 

The result was fantastic. A clean, crisp, fruity, 100% natural brew we imaginatively called - The Original. 

We then began production and with stock finally up our sleeve we launched Roleystone Brewing Co. in May 2018 and started pouring. 

Since then, we have continued to develop and expand to meet demand while remaining committed to producing quality, crisp ciders that speak for themselves.
